X2N, what neck pup

X2N going into a lester. Which neck pickup would you recommend.

I have an original dmz paf, air classic n and b, or a super 2, but dont let that limit you. Also have a super d/paf in my other lester. Playing late 70-early 80 metal and hard rock through a JCM 800 4010.

Re: X2N, what neck pup

I would go with a PAF in an LP neck, The Deactivator X neck could be a good fit, Liquifire also......

Re: X2N, what neck pup

The DMZ PAF is a good neck pup but I think it'll be more than a little overpowered by the X2N. I have a LP with an X2N bridge and I went for the Super D neck. All the power you need and the Super D has an awesome, compressed 'oooooooooooooooh' kinda tone under gain.

Re: X2N, what neck pup

DiMarzio Super2. Try it split for amazing tone. Got that advice from others here and it paid off. Split that X2N as well. Power and finesse in one guitar...

Re: X2N, what neck pup

Super2 is a good call if power matching is the goal.

But...if you are wiring the X2N for series/parallel/single, which I think EVERYONE should do because it is a freaking amazingly versatile pup when doing that capable of everything from SRV Blues, to cool Jazz to mega Shred....might want something a little different.

Re: X2N, what neck pup

I was going to suggest PAF since you already have one. Perfect combo there.
