Xotic AC Booster

Nowadays I'm thinking about to buy an AC Booster. But I have no idea how can I use it. Should I use it in front of my amp or send-return function to get best performance ?

My amp is Peavey XXL 212. It's a high gain amp. In my opinion, if I use it in front of the amp, there will be a big noise.

If anyone help me about that, I'll be very preciated.

well... at the very end of the chain(in the send/return loop) it'll drive the power tubes a small bit. first in the front of the amp will get a little bit of preamp dirt. if it's the very first thing, it might clip your pedals at high settings, if you've got pedals. depends on what dirt(if you get any at all) you want to get. imo a boost is best right before going into the front of the amp.
