Yamaha T100?

These were the Soldano designed amps right? Or he designed the power section or something?

I know a guy in town who is trying to move one, and I'm curious about what type of ground they can cover? I'd imagine that it doesn't sound like an SLO, but it should still sound pretty nice.

Does it have nice cleans? Can it do early 90's metal?

I'm trying to find some info on them right now, but there doesn't seem to be a lot. Any first hand experience here?

It was my understanding these were copies of the twin circuit

I could be wrong

Re: Yamaha T100?

The overall circuit is pretty similar to the SLO. Cleans are good and the amp has separate reverb controls for each channel. It should have adequate gain for your purpose.

The one significant downside (as with most Soldano designs) is the FX loop doesn't work well with pedals. If you want to use the loop, plan on investing in a loop buffer or rack effects.

I think there's also one where they compare a T100 and a Peavey 5150?

Good amps. Good for buzzy 80's hair metal tones.
These amps have 6L6 power amp tubes. Every one I've heard sounded a little thin, or scooped. Lots of sizzling high end, but sort of deficient in the midrange (to my ear anyway).
