Yamaha THR10 owners...

I have the THR5 and I am considering an upgrade to the THR10 or perhaps getting the acoustic specific model THR5C once it is released.

If you had a THR5 instead of the THR10 what are there features exclusive to the 10 that you would miss the most? I am talking mainly about the acoustic model, tone stack, and presets. Recording features and bass model are not something I need.

I kicked this around when I was looking at both these models. I would really miss the EQ and Bass. I like using the Bass with a guitar. Sounds good.

I heard one of these for the first time a couple of weeks ago, I think it was the THR10C (black) and it sounded great as a home/ practice amp... it's on my VERY soon to get list!

Hi Guys,
I work for Yamaha guitars, and the big differences between the THR5 & THR10 are:
THR10 has the following:
- Acoustic Setting (good for piezo only acoustic/electrics)
- Bass Setting
- Flat setting (good for acoustics with built in pre-amp or keyboards, etc)
- 3 band EQ (as opposed to single tone knob)
- 5 Changeable Presets
- Aux mix control
- the THR10 also has a bit more low end which makes it possible for the bass setting to sound so great
- All of the recording/USB ability are exactly the same on both

Frankly, unless space is your main issue, the THR10 is great "bang for your buck", it is only $100 more than the THR5 and has a lot more features.

I'm contemplating selling my Marshall and the two ideas I've been mulling over for replacements are the THR10, preferrably the 10C version if it becomes available in the states, and the Blackstar HT1.
