Re: Yay!

Yep :)
Loving it. Gonna replace speakers i think. I want a more American Jenseny Fendery sound. Any comments?

I believe American is more 'flat' in terms of EQ and more rounded. Am i right in saying that, or am i not really looking for an american sound.

Re: Yay!

Love that Tele.

I still haven't gotten a new cable to run into my BJ, or possibly the jack which may possibly be dead.

I'm in the same boat, Ben. I think I'm going to pick up an Eminence Cannabis Rex or a Swamp Thang. :usa2:

Re: Yay!

one question about the tele..... what colour is it.... gun metal grey? Inca Silver? What year is it...

These Blues Jr's have my eye... a cheap little studio amp kind of thing that really works....

Re: Yay!

I'm stuck. What are good speakers to fit into a Fender? I think i want the traditional Fender American sound. Jensen's or Eminence's?

I believe it's a 97 MIA. I'm not really sure about the official colour. Gun Metal Grey is darker ain't it? This is more silver and a slight tinge of green to it at certain angles? I've never seen the colour between, but i reckon it looks nice with my gold top next to it. :)

Maybe a bronze/copper Gretsch to top it off?

Well, Eminence makes American speakers in their Patriot line, and they have a wide variety. And they're pretty inexpensive. I'm going with a Cannabis Rex to tame the intense treble of the Blues Junior/Jazzmaster combo.

Re: Yay!

Okay, the Cannabis Rex seems to be a pretty popular choice. Maybe i should get one to try first. I notice people use the Red Fangs in Voxes. I assume they are more britishly voiced?

Re: Yay!

Yes, I think the Red Fang is in the Redcoat series, it's more of a Celestion/British voicing. On the Eminence website is a tone comparison sheet and sound clips site. Check that out, and see which ones you like.

Re: Yay!

Okay. I'm reading all these descriptions and I can't picture, or hear the sound in my head. My friend had a Fender Super Six and i like the sound from that. How i describe it, if i remember correctly was that it was more rounded across the board. So it was pretty even across the board. When we were playing it next to a MIE (made in england?) ac15, the ac15 seemed to have more push in the mids and the Fender sounded even, scooped next to the Vox.

I guess what i'd like is a pretty nice low end and high end, but with a slight push in the mids to cut through. I really like that sparkle and fullness of the bass. Would that be called "tight bass"? Trying to hear the descriptions in my head, but it's not working out for me :(
