Well, reading rave reviews for years about Suhr guitars and especially in a current thread..
Already want one as it seems they have made bolt ons even better than the originals...
Now, they are dabbling in set neck single cuts... WANT!
Check em:

Re: Yes Suhr!!

Alas...the cost...otherwise they seem to be really well made instruments. I haven't had the pleasure of playing one at length yet.

Re: Yes Suhr!!

Hot damn. It’s a 100 piece only thing. Maybe there will be more in the future. Definitely a Gibson killer

Re: Yes Suhr!!

7 grand? Get a nice custom shop or this? Try to sell it in 5 years, bet the Gibson holds it value over one of these.

Re: Yes Suhr!!

john is doing the frets and some other work himself on the first 100....which is holding up release. That is also a reason why they are so expensive at this time. Prices may come down a bit if they become a regular production model.

As for resale: Suhr’s Custom like instruments hold value as well as Gibson models.

Re: Yes Suhr!!

Wow...those guitars are gorgeous. Not $7000 gorgeous but still, gorgeous.
I like that the string angle coming off the headstock to the tuners issue was addressed with these. I’ll bet the tuning is very stable.

There is Andy from reverb with one of them. There are some interviews with John from NAMM discussing the tweaks he made for the Aura model.

Re: Yes Suhr!!

Looks like Suhr are Silver Sky-ing the Les Paul. Look gorgeous and, I’m sure, sound amazing. Too hefty a tag for me, though.

Re: Yes Suhr!!

Do they come with a lighted glass display case?

Go to guitar for gigs at Carnegie Hall, White House, Kennedy Center and maybe Super Bowl...

No, not exactly. We are just saying that for the first year we are focused on making 100 in this particular configuration. We hope this helps!
So this first run is limited to 100 pieces, I am guessing they'll gauge interest and make some tweaks for the "release" version

Re: Yes Suhr!!

Wow... you can bet they will be nothing short of awesome and hold their price.

Re: Yes Suhr!!

The only time I would be tempted to spend $7,000 on a guitar would be if it was hand built by Paul Reed Smith to the specific specifications given to him in a dream by God himself. Even then I would only consider it if it came with a string winder and a gig bag.

Re: Yes Suhr!!

You guys look at the price tag like it is supposed to reflect the cost of making the instrument.

It’s that high for two reasons:
1)To set customer’s perception of value high, so they can later mass produce and sell at a reduced price
2)The buyers are the kind of people who don’t look at the price tag. They’re like people who buy original art and sports cars. They want the best and don’t care about its actual value relative to alternatives
