The stock speakers just aint doing it for me, there are some really harsh frequencies in there that I'm hoping will be smoothed out with new speakers.
I'm gonna get some Vintage 30's or maybe a 30 and a G12H30 for the matching vox 2x12 cab. Anyway, what ohm speakers do I need to get? I'm guessing two 8 ohm speakers to make 4 ohms?
Will I still be able to run it at either 4 or 16 ohm. I saw that there is a little circuit board in the cab, say you have the head on 16 ohm with the cab wired 4 ohm, does the board convert it so that the signal coming out of the head matches the ohms the speakers are wired at? Kinda a dumb question since the Neo's can only be wired one way yet run at different ohms. Is it as easy as just pulling the wires off the old speakers and replacing them on the new ones?
Even running not much gain(just the boutique OD, gain about half way, no pedal) the speakers seem to give out and get muddy on lower notes. Is that just something I'm not used to with SS amps or will the new speaker help the lower notes come out clear.
