YJM Fury wired in parallel or series?

Question: Is the YJM Fury stack pickup, and for that matter all stack pickups, wired in parallel in the interior? I know they are a 4-wire setup, so with the appropriate switch, can a stack pick go from parallel to series and back again? Or will that not work well due to its design? By analogy, regular humbuckers are wired in series, but with the flip of a switch, you can have both coils also in parallel. Would be nice to to turn a stack pickup into a humbucker as another option.

So can it be done and if so, will it be worth it?

YJM Fury in series.

The output difference between series and parallel is nothing like as great as with side by side coils.
