You Floyd Users....

Do you find that you move the fine tuners when you are playing? I havent played mine overly much, but I can see it happening.

Re: You Floyd Users....

Seems like you'd have to rest your hand pretty far back on the bridge to do that.

Re: You Floyd Users....

Fine tuners have a pretty high ratio to them, you have to move them alot to really effect the string. Are your fine tuners loose?

Re: You Floyd Users....

Not at all.

People always complain about Floyds going sharp when you rest your hand on them, and I think those people either have a really crappy technique or don't know how to setup the bridge. I've never had that problem ever, as my hand doesn't touch the bridge, even when I mute hard.

Re: You Floyd Users....

Never had any trouble with the tuners on my Floyds getting in the way..... i have a few Floyds and a few Floyd copies and never can remember my hand hitting the tuners.

Re: You Floyd Users....

Never had that problem, I can see how others might, though....this is the reason the Lo-Pro Versions like the Floyd Rose PRO, Schaller 5370 and Lo-Pro Edge were created ;)

Re: You Floyd Users....

nope.. never had a problem with em.. never had a problem with the floyd, period.

Re: You Floyd Users....

Being a Who Fan i even have tried to swing my arm around like Townshend does and i have never hit the Floyd tuners or the bridge in general..... Pete did! In Tacoma in 1989 he swung his arm really fast and impailed his hand on the trem bar!!!! The Floyd Rose bar on his customized Clapton Strats went straight thru his hand and out the other side.... I always thought it was odd seeing Pete with Floyds but for a few years he had Floyds and some other locking trem bridges on his strats! He used Floyds on a few of his strats on the 1996 and 97 Who tours as well...

Nope, but if you do, try to get ahold of a Jackson JT-6... anyone who's seen one knows it's virtually impossible to bump the fine tuners.

Re: You Floyd Users....

I'm looking at my OFR right now, and I can't imagine how on earth you would be picking the strings if your hand is resting on or near the fine tuners (they are up on on a flange that protrudes from the back of the bridge) ... can you post a pic???

No, never had this problem.

Re: You Floyd Users....

I rarely pick that close to the bridge and even if I do nowhere near the tuners. I don't see that as a problem.

It's usually when you get someone who's not used to Floyd's that that happens. It just takes some time to adjust.

...but I wouldn't go out and just call it crappy technique.
