Your favorite magnets?

I seem run away from the Vs, but I like II for the neck and Ceramic for the bridge. One dark neck pickup, one bright bridge pickup, but they still seem to work okay.

So what about you?

Re: Your favorite magnets?

I prefer ceramic for bridge, just because they feel and sound tighter and more aggressive to me.

For neck, anything goes, as long as it sounds good.

I normally only use A2 or A5s these days and it depends alot on the guitar they're in...I just converted my A2 59B/C Hybrid over to A5 and it's great in my bridge spot of my Love Rock, but I normally like A2s in the bridge, especially for my strats..

In the neck of either my SG or Love Rock LP,I seem to prefer A5,but I'm going to try the PGN with an A2 cause I've never tryed one?

Re: Your favorite magnets?

I like alnico 5 Strat/Tele neck and middle pickups and alnico 2 or 5 Strat/Tele bridge pickups.

I like alnico 2 neck humbuckers and alnico 2 or 5 bridge humbuckers.

Re: Your favorite magnets?

Depends on too many other factors to really say, especially the other pickup specific ones. But Generally Ceramic or A5 ;)

Re: Your favorite magnets?

i mainly like ceramics(i'm a metal guy what do you expect?) since they have tightness and power in the areas i like

Re: Your favorite magnets?

The A2's have less effect if they are too close the string, therefore I call them a little more forgiving. Therefore with the A2, it's easier to adjust the pickup heights? Does anyone agree with that?

Concurr. I like A2's for this reason. In fact. both my PG bridge and CC are set up to almost kiss the strings. :)

Another thing I like about A2 is the way you can change a note just by the way you fret it or pick it. It's much easier to this with Alnico II than with Alnico V or Ceramic. :burnout:
