Your thoughts on the Invader neck pickup?

Heyo! Anyone got experience with the Invader neck pickup? Some guys beefin' on Harmony Central that because it's so bassy in the bridge position, "the Invader neck PU must have WAAAY to much bass".

Because I'm using this particular axe for more "doom" oriented sounds along the lines of Electric Wizard and SUNN O))) "too much bass" is fine with me!

Also, apart from the absence of the SD logo on the newer models, is anyone aware of other differences between the old-school Invaders (no logo) and the newer ones??

pretty much all the "vintage" duncan mojo is magic. They still wire them by hand and use the same techniques. The pickups are still just wire magnets and plastic. 20 years won't do anything to them and even if it did what's the point in trying to get a sound of a new pickup from an old one?

About the neck invader, not my cup of tea. It's not that bass heavy as much as being undefined and that being the real problem. I just wish it was mid heavy like the bridge, then it would absolutely kick a**

I use an Invader neck + bridge set in my SG, and I love the neck model ! although wit hthe way I set up my EQ clarity is not an issue.

And if it IS to dark for YOU, then you can just clip the capacitor they use on the neck models to make them darker...
