ZENdrives??

Greetings~ Jeez,,, is there any short education on real Zendrives, (with or w/o Lovepedal) and not the probably millions of clones.....? My only experience is some YT video featuring the large, tube version of the ZD...... I was mighty impressed, and these versions tend to be kinda pricey. So, where's the 'median' point of these w/o going nut$$, nor going with a cheaper, inferior version??
Hermida vs. Lovepedal/Hermida,,, tube V2?
Thanks in advance~

i dont know how to tell unless its in front of you. lovepedal sells the through hole version now as far as i know

Build an Aion FX Azimuth kit

It's basically the perfect zen drive, fairly cheap, and one of the absolute easiest pedals to build.

^this if you're skilled enough, anyway any clone around is good, it's a pretty simple circuit, there are not fancy components, even the opamp is not that important as mentioned, in mine I tried at least 5 different opamps, it always sound the same, don't fall in the pitfall of snake oil mythological versions, i'd say it's a clever interpretation of a tube screamer topology but not so much more

There is a reason why some of them are more collectible than others:
The original Zendrive were made by Alonso Hermida from 2004 to about 2011 (?) in very small quantaties. First they had no brand sign on the outside, the very late ones can have the Hermida Audio sign on the outside but they all have a handwritten date and are handsigned by AH on the inside.
The later Lovepedal made ones (which look quite identical on the outside with the Hermida Audio Logo on the outside) had a big black pcb board from 2012 on.
But around 2016 they made limited run with the old features. And they are again all signed inside by AH. They go for crazy money too.
