  • I was using the vibrato channel

of and old blackface bandmaster, which I can't remember the year of. After probably 30 minutes of use I hear this deep rumble in the backround that goes along with the vibratos frequency changes. What's going wrong? Is this normal?

A deep rumbling motorboating sound is sometimes a cathode resistor going out...

Could also be the tube for the vibrato. I think its a 12 AT7. You will have to check to see, but a bad tube can sound pretyy similar also!
