  • Thinking about a Weber cabinet for my Blues Jr.

I went to the Weber site today and checked out their cabinets. They look nice....3/4 inch pine and the junior cab in 12 inches deep!

I think I might pull the trigger on a tweed and oxblood. Does anyone have any experience with Weber brand cabs? I figure it ought to be a whole bunch better than the original particle board one. If you have any experience with Weber cabs, I would love to hear your opinion.

Weber's cabs are supposed to be pretty good and the extra depth (12" vs. 9-/12" stock) should be very nice.

I do have direct experience with a few Mojo cabs and they are top notch quality IMHO. http://www.mojomusicalsupply.com/ite...972&id=4000099 List is $270 for a Blues Jr. replacement, but you can get a better price from Marsh Amplification (among others).

Thanks for the replies! I'm gonna get one as soon as I get the cash. I think I could fit just about any kind of speaker with that extra depth...it might also have better bass response.

          Sounds like a win-win situation.

the solid pine 12" deep box will definitly give you more bottom end, more musical highs too. with the extra depth you could put an alnico speaker in there

              That's what I am thinking......But which alnico?

I'm hoping to get a little more volume out of it as well.

Besides Weber, I think there's a few other builders that do some nice oversized pine cabs.
I've seen a few on Ebay.

Either way, the Blues Jr. is a good amp, and has the potential to be even better.
