  • Power tubes for JCM 800, opinions?

Just got a 2203 reissue mint, with original Marshall stamped tubes.
This amp sounds great, wanna chage out the power tubes, for reliability sake, this is gonna be my gigging amp.
My tech recommend, a quad of Sventlanas or Mullards........

I like Mullards, and have actually had good results with Sovteks. The best sounding tubes I ever had were branded Mesa/Boogie, but I don't know who they were made by.

I have JJs in my JMP and Jubilee. They sound great to me and I've had no problems.

Great sounding tube in Marshall amps....I use them in my Bogner XTC too! You don't need to spend a fortune to get a great sounding EL34!

Buy Shuguang EL34-B vacuum power tubes online, in stock and ready to ship! Find reviews, data sheets and specs to upgrade your tube amplifier.

Never heard of the Shuaungs or however they are spelled..
Believe me when I say that some of the most amazing music in history was made on equipment that's not as good as what you own right now.

Tung Sol el34s are hands down the best modern el34's! "Winged" C svetlanas are also good but Tung Sol has a bit sweeter top end.

I'm a fan of EH 6CA7s in EL34 amps, a little cleaner than standard EL34s, that may or may not be your thing...

The =C= is the closest you can get to a modern made Mullard.
