  • Do these Marshall Master PA amps sound anything like the guitar or bass amps?

I see them on eBay once in awhile, and you can't touch a guitar or bass amp for less than a few thousand (plexi era...60s), these seem to go for a reasonable price. What kind of sound do they produce or are they easily modded to be a guitar amp? Just wondering, I'm broke and can't buy, but in the future...

I think this one in the photo is from the 60s, but they made these from what, 65 until 76? Something like that. Then there's the PA amps, but people have caught on to those and they're as expensive as a regular amp!

    My songs....enjoy! (hopefully )

Nothing like a Plexi...not a bad sound per se but not a sound you'd want to play rock guitar though, at least I wouldn't...

It's a memory I don't like to relive...but yes, I had to sell it. Got $750 for it with a missing knob.

              i just wana say that

while i probably wouldn't notice it

if i DID happen to notice

that a band was using a vintage 60's tube-based PA system

and not the modern dance club approved PA the venue is probably using

they would automatically be way more awesome than, say,

a band that wasn't doing that.

I would totally rock that amp.
