  • My Jam room pics

With crappy cell phone shots I never seem to think to bring the camera down.
This will give you an idea though. About a third of my basement, drums and PA are under the sheets. We've got a mini fridge for beers a couple bass amps, my amp and extra cab, keyboard amp and 3 or 4 mics ready most of the time. And a few strings of lights for a little cheesy ambiance. Not fancy but its a great little place to have to play in.
The walls have 3 layers of 5/8 sheet rock and a layer of sound deadening board. The ceiling also has the sound board, 2 sheet rock and then a drop ceiling. It was all well worth it too. I did this when my wife was pregnant in hope to be able to keep playing here and it worked great. Even on the first floor its only like hearing a radio from downstairs. On the 2nd floor its like maybe hearing something far away coming from outside.
Its so nice not being at the mercy of other peoples lives when it come to jamming and have a place to do it.

This. Exactly this. A million times this. Forever and until the end of time...this.

Looks like a fun place, dude. I hope you continue to enjoy it.

Sounds like you did a great job with the soundproofing. I dig the lights for the "cheesy ambiance".

Note they are wrapped around the sewer drain.

We do have a strobe and one of the strings can be set to different blinking speeds. Very high tech.

Enjoy! The little bit of soundproofing I did made a huge difference and being able to play without disturbing anyone is worth the effort
