wow not even a little hum? I'm so used to noise and hum and crackles I thought it was part of playing guitar through amps.

It was bizarre. I'm using a big Vox AC 30 choke in it. That helps tremendously. I'm sure if I had plugged the strat into it instead of the humbucker guitar, I'd have heard something. Can't wait to futz with it some more next week.
