  • Combo to head conversion resources?

Hey dere! I would like to convert a combo of mine into a head setup. I was wondering if there are any killer sites, etc to inform me of this. Thank you

I ****ing love it when I'm about to start a thread and then somebody just goes ahead and starts the exact same thread.

Hope you plan on keeping it for a long time, resale value will be gone

If you do it right and keep the combo enclosure then it'll be completely reversible if minds are changed. You'll just be left with an empty head shell, which may even be sellable itself.

Now I can see that. My first thoughts where actually cutting the cab and physically turn it into a head. Now if you can get an empty head shell casing, then buy all means go for it.

Yup. The hardest part will be building (or having built) a new headshell with the correct dimensions for the chassis of the amp. I'm planning on having one built by a professional amp builder in my local area when I have the cash to pay him for the work and for a seperate cab.

Though, I'll admit that the thought of just sawing the top part of my amp off has crossed my mind. Ya gotta admit; a haggard, dirty, old, hacked up half a combo perched precariously on top of a beat up 4x12 would look pretty badass...

I'd like to convert my Cube into a super tiny, light-weight head to carry around.
