Most guitar amp experts have never heard of or seen the following Fender amps. They were greeted with limited commercial success and were abandoned quickly after their marketplace debut. Here they are:
"Dual Showoff" - This two-channel amp was targeted to bands fronted by a pair of egomaniac guitarists.
"Tweed Basement" - The Fender "relic" idea was originally applied to an amp. Came showroom new with dirty, tattered tweed, rusty chassis and that unmistakable mildew odor.
"Electroluxe Reverb" - This model was designed to help the guitarist justify his new purchase to his wife. A combo in every sense of the word, it featured great tone, high power, casters, and a rug-beater attachment.
"Stupor Reverb" - Short-lived model during the late-60's, designed to appeal to stoned guitar players. Reverb tank bag doubled as a stash.
"Hoboken Community College Reverb" - Ill-fated, underachieving addition to the student model line consisting of Harvard, Yale, and Princeton.
"Bandmeister" - This amp was voiced especially for guitarists in Polka and Oom Pa Pa bands. Came with tilt-back legs and a beer stein holder.
"Semi-Pro Reverb" - Briefly popular with "weekend warriors". Half the size and power of a Pro Reverb.
"Tremblelux" - Aimed at guitar players suffering from stage fright; novel tremelo effect was designed to mask sour vibrato from nervous fingers.
