  • Tell me about the Texas Heat speakers please .....

I'm all ears, I am in the market for replacement speakers and I might have found a nice deal on these....

When I had it in a small lopo 1x12 cube (closed back) the sound was not what I liked. When I moved it to a 2x12 closed (much bigger) running it alone it sounds really nice. It has an articulate speaker with a bit of smokey grind int he upper mids or lower highs.

Yeah, not very bright but still some sparkly still in it, smooth midrange, and warm, full bass. It's got enough midrange to make my amp sound a little more balanced (especially vs that stock C12K)
I use one in my DRRi, and have used one in a small MDF open back 1x12.

I can't confirm, but I've been told that it's the same speaker as the Swamp Thang, but with a smaller magnet.

They both have the 2" voice coil, I know that

This is a great description of the Texas Heat.
