Found an old boss bass Eq for dirt cheap, will this work alright? I've used other pedals for basses before in my rig before and I figure it should be fine, Am I correct???

An EQ is an EQ.
There isn't really such thing as a 'bass EQ' really. It just has a different set of adjustable frequencies to the guitar version
Both have perfectly useable frequency adjustments for both guitar and bass and in some cases, the 'bass' version may even be superior for guitar and vice versa depending on the particular situation.
Judging from your thread about extreme metal, you probably play metal and having something to dip 50Hz and 4.5Khz can prove very useful indeed.
