  • wiring led question

if you have a dpdt switch, how would you wire it up so that led's (2 different colors) would light up depending on which poles are selected, im sure its an easy one, but i have no experience with this

    thanks
i saw this band, and thought they were really great, until i saw what the guy was playing through........

    Re: wiring led question

Depends on what voltage you have and is has to be DC. You'll need a current limiting resistor in series with the LED, doesn't matter which side the resistor is on, but the anode (long lead) is + and the cathode (short lead) is -.

      Re: wiring led question

Is this in a 9 volt powered stompbox?

If so...you can use this formula:

      battery voltage - LED voltage
      LED current consumption

eg: 9v - 2.2v (for red LED) = 340 ohm resistor (in series)
      20 miliamps (.02 amps)
