Re: One step closer to pedalboard greatness

Pretty awesome board, man. I dig it.

Is that a volume or a wah on the right?
    I remember calloused hands and paint-stained jeans, and I remember safe-as-houses self-belief.

It's a Crybaby. I'd like a volume pedal, I do some swells on this new song... it's not hard to do with my volume knob but I feel like it would be more freeing to just play away and do it all with my foot.

A man after my own heart. The idea was to pick up some pedals I thought esential to what I wanted to do as fast as I could, then pickup my "luxury" (read: not needed) pedals by saving up for them, as opposed to mindless spending.

You really do. My bassist bought the PT3... and I havent told him what I really think about it, but he knows: he needs something bigger.

I'm posting a picture at the bottom.

As far as functioning: it does. it plays and records fine... but theres no volume. I have to crank the pedal and crank the amp to get what sounds like a quiet lo fi version of the loop.

I'd recommend the line 6 DL4 for looping. My giga delay has a GREAT looper, dont get me wrong, but the DL4 has four buttons that you can use in loop mode

the left most button records. press it to record... and let go to start playback.

the next one towards the right is the play button.

the next one plays your loop ONCE.

the last one is a half speed button. if you press it during a loop, it will play at half speed and drop in pitch accordingly... the thing is, the DL4 has 14 seconds of looping, but if you keep the half speed on, you can record 28 seconds, in that case pressing that button plays your loop at double speed with the pitch higher as well.

...sometimes. I know I don't have a lot of boutique-y pedals, but I like what I have. I bought what I knew I wanted to HEAR, not see on my board. I have the SD-1 on there because I found out that The Edge used it to give his dotted eights some edge. I also heard Zakk Wylde rave about it, as well as some of my other favorite musicans, like Robert Smith.

I got the DS-2 and Small Clone on there cause... you know... 90s alt rock anthems man. I'm a fan boy.

and so on. there isnt really stuff id like to get rid of (save for the clone theory which I use for vibe).

I almost got one. of course, I didnt accept it in a trade, though later on my bassist said "you should have gotten it and have it on your board just to mess with people.

      -whats that cool distortion?

oh i use a metal zone...

and whats really on is the Muff.

this is my bassist's board, for size comparision. this is the one before my PT pro, which is the , largest.

yeahhh but it'd be nice to be able to record rhythms for jazz tunes and practice with em--it'd save me the trouble of pirating aebersold

I'm going use the same remark you made on mine before, "looks good minus all those BOSS pedals..." hahahaha

            No, seriously nice board.

then get a loop station... then again if you need so much looping, what are you doing? making organic music or programming sounds?

theres ALWAYS the option of sequencing...

I've since turned around. we used to think a bunch of boss pedals on your board looked geeky.

RC-20 or 50 for real big looping.
