  • Anone play the new Tonelab EX, and is it better than the LE?

I love my Vox Tonelab LE, but it's getting a little long in the tooth from use, and now one of the buttons doesn't work. I was thinking about trying to get a Line 6 XT Live as my main pedal and using the Vox as a backup (which I don't have at the moment), then I discovered this new Tonelab EX. I've read a few reviews that say it is the best sounding Tonelab yet, but nothing in the specs has led me to believe this to be true. Is this all honeymoon and Kool Aid, or did Vox really improve on the LE? Thanks bros!
    My songs....enjoy! (hopefully )

Sorry I haven't tried it yet. I'm still using the original desktop Tonelab and love it. The LE is really good too. I'd try the new one out and see if I were you. I think the one just before it (ST) wasn't as good as the others from what I remember.

The write up on the EX sounds real good.

I dug my LE for the year or two I had it. I went with an Eleven Rack and the Tonelab got sold because as good as it was, it wasn't 11R good. Nevertheless, if I had to go with a floor modeler again I would consider the LE again. But from what I know about the POD HD500, that would be the more likely choice this time out. Doesn't have a real tube in there, but a great-sounding pedal that's full of features.
