Ok, I think it works now... huh?!?

I "believe" that one of the problems was that one pot wasn't contacting the board properly and therefore wasn't grounded...

Now I need to find pots with a "D"-shaped shaft so I can fit the knobs on them, I thought I could squeezed the split-shafts enough to fit in there but I can't.

This is a bit of a relief...

BTW: that thing's got a TON of gain... quite nice sounding too.

        It's working?

I'll give you £10 for it.
        I remember calloused hands and paint-stained jeans, and I remember safe-as-houses self-belief.

Glad to hear that it works.

Me too... I just don't trust it yet. I kinda expect it to fail on me within an hour of playing. Afterall, it has been silent for more than 10 years, it's bound to blow it's voice out...

Again, I still need to change the pots once more to D-shaped shafts anyways so anything can happen.

I'd go with new knobs. Put the originals in a bag and let the next owner worry about it. Just my $ .02.
                Hmm...

That's what I'd do but: this is an old Ross pedal with the recessed knobs... anything else than the original would look completely stupid.

That's funny. It wouldn't stop me from just changing the knobs. I'd call it "character" and mock anyone who says otherwise.

We'll see. I'll try to gather up an order worth of mouser's 8$ shipping charges. If not I may well do that but any other "tiny" knobs lost in the recess will not only look weird but also be hard to turn...

The only thing left to do is dremel down the pots and leave a slot in the top. Trim Pots.
                        Hmm...
