  • This is what I got with my Christmas money....

I'm getting a few other things but here is what I picked out...

Supposedly it's a mix of a Univox, a Mossrite and another fuzz he's been working on. Very 60s. I think I'll like this pedal because it seems to be pretty low gain for a fuzz.

Sounds cool! Getting a balanced recorded fuzz tone can be such a pain ...
Why don't you take your little Cobra Kais and get outta here?!

Not from what I have heard. Most of Spooky Tooth's music sounds like cranked Marshalls with mild fuzz or treble boosters. I think it's more in lines with tagging an era/style than saying 'this will sound like Spooky Tooth'.

The Spooky Tooth 'guitar sound' to me is a darkish guitar tone recorded in a very live, bunker-like room with lots of reflections getting into the microphones. Technically speaking, not a great guitar sound, but it does compliment their often anguished lyrics well.

The Spooky Tooth pedal sounds like a much more high gain fuzz with a LOT of low frequency push.

sounds like a ge fuzz face maybe with a little bass trimmed off and a little extra gain. Thats a good sound.

Luther Grosvenor played some nice stuff. Very underrated. Listen to the Wrong Place from The Last Puff and Evil Woman from Spooky Two.

I'm just about ready to give in to this fuzz GAS I have. I don't even know what I would ever use it for but I LOVE the way they sound.

Wow, I recognized that Spooky Tooth riff immediately...Judas Priest covered that song. Now I've got another cool old band to check out. Thanks, Twighlight.
