      Yeah I think so too, it can be psychological. I always play better when I realize I'm playing well.

              I spend many years as a player not gigging, so I only used a Line 6 AX2 for a long time. Listening to recordings I made with that thing, I got some great tones from it and seemed to play well.

              When I decided to go back to tube amps, WOW! I practically had to relearn how to play! Very different feel and reaction.
