  • new 4x12 cab?

so i have decided its time for a new 4x12 cab. why? cuz it is.
    i am currently playing my 5150 through a 5150 straight 4x12 loaded with 2 wgs veteran 30s and 2 hm75's.

speaker wise on the new cab i think i wanna go with eminence governor man o war x pattern because i really like my wgs speakers but want to try somthing a little different too.

anyways what i am having trouble with is what cab i am going to get.

i have narrowed it down between avatar vintage or a splawn staight.

it is not a problem for me to spend the money on the splawn but the avatar is 600$ shipped. thats a lot of dough to be saved?
so basicacly comes down too is the splawn worth the extra money? does it sound that much better? would it be that much more durable?

    all help is greatly appreciated?

Splawn cabs are excellently built and will hold their resale value quite well. Will it sound better - I'm not too sure, that's your call to make - but it'll be just as durable if not a bit more so.

Don't have any experience with the Splawn, but I have an Avatar Vintage and they are great cabs. Very well built and great tone.
