  • Metal on a Budda? Hmm...let's see,

Here is my SD80 doing what Budda's aren't really meant to do.
Despite that fact, it sure does it nicely...

Sounds killer. I bet that'd sound way more ballsy and badass with a more full-range type of OD boosting instead of the high-mids of the TS variety.

        Thanks guys.
The 808 makes the amp sound it's tightest and most aggressive. I also like to use my OCD but it reduces the attack and adds some unneeded smoothness and lowend that is already naturally provided by the amp and oversized 4x12. The 808 is also actually a VS Route 808 which IMO sounds better that an original 808.

That Route 808 supposed to have the orig chip??
Dude, that sounds great! I hear those Buddas are amazing.. I heard that vid of leslie west playing thru one and it was sick... But, his tone is great too..
Thanks for sharing! put more up! Maybe do a comparo tween the other amps you have.. Killer stack of em you have!
Believe me when I say that some of the most amazing music in history was made on equipment that's not as good as what you own right now.

Thanks bro. I'm not sure about the chip, but the pedal really sounds great.
I should do some comparision vids but I'd like to have a quality A/B box so I don't have to unplug or turn things off during the demo. I would also want to use the same cab for all the amps so that would need to be figured out too. Certain amps of mine sound better with certain cabs/speakers too, so one amp may sound better than another in a shootout but it would likely be a result of the speaker pairing.
I previously used V30's with the Budda, but that amp is so freaking loud that V30's were too efficient for that amp and the mids were a little cold and dry sounding. I've been liking the V12 Legends with the amp because those speakers are very thick and tight sounding and let you really pour a lot of volume on and they don't fight the amp's natural freq's like the V30's.

I get weak in the knees at the sight of a vintage Fender amp!

Thanks man, not very vintage...but still very cool. Hilarious thing is that this amp can do vintage tones too

Thanks. I find it's a wider, smoother and bigger sounding classic Marshall type tone.
