Peavey Revalver slays my POD HD absolutely 6-0. I downloaded the demo a year ago and remembered that it was quite good. With your own impulses this thing sounds heavenly. You can almost feel the speaker moving the air. Because I've tried it before a long time ago I know that this isn't just a honeymoon phase. This thing rocks.

Anyone wants a demonstration song with lots of amps/cabs/mics?

I think that's one of the best features of Revalver MkIII.V, being able to store your own impulses right into your own patches. I have a bunch of patches with various amp sims into Redwirez impulses, and they do sound great. I personally prefer the LePou amp sims, but the added effects and functions in Revalver make it one of the best packages available. The only Amplitube stuff that comes close IMO is their Fender package, but again, vastly improved by the Redwirez impulses.

Here's a quick demo of a Revalver patch I made up, using a Budda V20 sim with a Celestion Blue into a Royer 121 from Redwirez.

A model of the Budda V20 from Revalver MkIII.V, running into a Redwire IR of a Celestion Blue, with a Royer 121 on the cap edge

Yeah, that's very true. I also like Revalver because you don't have to spend more than 10 minutes to get an awesome sound that you can record with. I never could achieve a sound in my head with POD HD but with Revalver... 5 mins and I was there. Revalvers SIR is really good to use with other amp sims too. For example LePou's sims. It's so tweakable.

Really nice crunch you have there. Couldn't tell if it was a real amp or not.

              I NEED THIS!

I've been looking for an upgrade to my old home/modeling setup (which has been the same PodXT for years now) but had heard only limited praise of the Pod HD , and couldn't justify the price of a 11rack/Axe-fx/Kemper for a system I'll only be recording song demos on.

If the Revalver stuff has really gotten that good, I need to check it out.

Nice! I've only got revalver Hp but I remember from prior to peavy's ownership, I loved the Marshall amp a lot. It's really fun to change around the preamp tubes and stuff "inside" the amps.

What do you use to get the signal in there in the first place?

Any Firewire or USB audio interface will do the trick.
