  • It's that time again - what are you into your board for?

Saw a similar thread on TGP, and did the math... yikes.

    PT-1 - $130
    PPII+ - $170
    Korg Pitchblack - $100
    Analogman Sunface NKT275 - $280
    Wampler Ego Comp - $200
    Xotic BB Preamp - $170
Dr Scientist The Elements - $195*
    Catalinbread RAH - $190
Fuzzhugger Algal Bloom XS - $150*
Voodoo Labs Micro Vibe - $150*
Diamond Memory Lane Jr - $280
    Cusack Tap a Whirl V3 - $275
TC Hall of Fame - $145
Custom cables (forgot these) - $100

    Total: Yeesh, $2535

    * - In the mail/being built/backordered (in that order)

I'm also waiting for the TC Alter Ego to get back in stock. So that will bring my total up to $2700. Once I order that, I'm done for a long time.

Wow... didn't realize how much I've spent. Of course, I've sold many of my old pedals, and while I've bought all of those pedals new, almost all of them were bought on some sale or another. The only ones I paid full retail were the Pitchblack, the Fuzzhugger (custom built), the Sunface (custom built) and the Cusack. I'm probably into my board for close to $2000.

You guys seem to love these threads...I avoid them as it makes my head spin!
If you just read a post by The Guy Who Invented Fire please understand that opinions change, mind sets change and as players our ears mature...not to mention our needs grow and change. With that in mind, today I may or may not agree with the post you just read!

Seeing what other people have spent on their boards makes me feel better about mine.

Of course, considering how much I've already spend on mine, I think it works better for me on TGP.

Re: It's that time again - what are you into your board for?

That's why I like the small board; what's on the board is just a fraction of the overall, but it's nothing kuh-razy.

The order of my current board is different, but the pedals are the same:

Boss TU-2: Don't remember; think I paid $100 for it like 12+ years ago

Heavy Electronics Descend: Don't remember; think it was $130?

Tommy Bolin Fuzz: Don't remember; $150? Maybe?

Xotic BB Preamp: Don't remember, but I think it was around $180

        Hip Kitty Oxblood: Don't remember

Catalinbread Naga Viper: $170ish? Really don't remember (are you sensing a theme?)

z.vex SHO: I seem to remember this being around $240

Nick Greer Sweetback Driver: I think this was around $130

Radial ABY: Don't remember; I think it was $150

Total: *shrug* Dunno. Somewhere between X and Y Dollars, plus the cables, ends, power supply, and actual board.
Why don't you take your little Cobra Kais and get outta here?!

Probably enough to buy 2 amps and 3 guitars, but who cares.
Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

            PW strobe tuner $70
            Blues driver $40
            Crunchbox $100
            Les Lius $130

so... yeah I'm by no means a pedal collector, I've got a few flavors of drive and that's it! My amp comes with great reverb, thankfully.

Re: It's that time again - what are you into your board for?

I've managed to build a really great board and filter out all of the budget cheapo pedals. And with everything that's on there now ive managed to only spend about $300. I'm a massive deal hunter and I've been very lucky to pick up some things for next to nothing. My employee discount at Guitar Center has been really helpful. I got my deja vu for 50 bucks and my tweak fuzz for 30. I also managed to pay nothing for my main dirt box. Some crazy customer just gave me a vintage 88 RAT, those go for a pretty penny.

No board, just loose pedals, maybe $500? $120 in last week.

LITTLE BOYZ GO HOME! COME BACK TO PLAY WITH THE BIG bOYZ ANOTHER DAY.

This in no way encompasses the pedals I have bought and sold.

So someone add all this up for me value-wise please. I am retarded in mathematics. A quick mental tally shows its about FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ( including my three Pedaltrain pedalboards) worth of pedals.

And the funny thing is I never play any of em! Ain't that a Hoot!??!!

                    I WIIIIIIIIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are we talking RRP or the actual prices we paid on Ebay and the like?

I'm too lazy to add up two different sets of figures.
                      I remember calloused hands and paint-stained jeans, and I remember safe-as-houses self-belief.

I just did list prices, and then estimated what I actually paid.

Good grief... probably a lot over the years, so I'll just go with what's on there now...

Pedaltrain Pro (w/ soft gig bag) - 149.99
custom Studio Slips gig bag (when the soft gig bag didn't cut it anymore) - 155
                              Industrial Strength Velcro - 29.99
Voodoo Labs Pedal Power II Plus - 169.00
                              Pete Cornish LD-1 - 293.50
                              Kingsley Jester - 375
                              Maxon AD999 - 337.50
Red Witch Pentavocal Trem - 249.99
Sonic Research Turbo Tuner - 129.99
                              Mulder Audio interconnect cables (5) - 249.99
Sommer Grindy Cop Beast cables (2) - 173.90
                              2313.85

Granted that's MSRP and I usually only buy something if I can get some kind of a sale price on it (half that stuff I bought back when it first came out before prices went up or bought it second hand). Still, anyhow you look at it that's a pretty retarded amount of money. I don't want to add up all the amounts from the stuff I've sold... that would be just plain crazy.

Right now I'm sinking more money into the pedalboard by refinishing it. Yes, I'm aware I'm completely crazy, but it's turning out pretty well
