  • Jet City 22H comes today

Right now I will have to play it through the celestion gt12-75 I have in my jcm 800 combo. I'll post what it sounds like later tonight.

On a side note if anyone has experience with these and has a better suggestion for a speaker i am open.

V30 types for tighter, more modern tones, or greenback types for more classic tones.

the Jet City amps really do prefer speakers which have ample mids.

I liked the jet city can that uses an eminence. Should have bought it.
So the 75 water may not be good? I also considered a warehouse reaper hp. It is basically a 50 watt version of a g12h-30

Loving this amp! Both channels are great. Channel 1 get pretty clean through a nice thick crunch. Channel 2 is high gain city. Remains smooth though. Only 20 watts do my ears do not hurt. Amp seems well balanced to me.

As for my celestion. Definitely not as thick as the stock cab with eminence speaker from the store. But I like the sound a lot!

I used to use my JCA with G12T-75s.

If you're jamming in your bedroom it's alright, but playing in a band situation is just a downer. To my ears, the 75s sound very nasal and whiny due to the lack of mids, and really cannot sound tight and well defined.

If you're mixing speakers, the 75 would be good with something that fills in the mids (I tried a G12T-75 + G12-65 in an X Pattern in a 4x12), and that can sound really good, but alone, the 75 just doesn't suit these amps IMO.

The Reaper HP would be a good choice. before getting my WGS Retro 30s, I was torn between those and the Reaper HPs.

I was looking for a more modern V30esque tone, so the Retros won out, but if you want that G12H sound, then the Reapers or Reaper HPs are your best bet.

            Convoy,
I am not looking modern so I may order the reaper. I used to love how the gh12-30 sounded with my jcm 800. Will have to go in that combo unless I order the jet city cab. I think if my jcm combo was close back that speaker would sound better.

Congratulations!! I had a JCA2112RC, but it just didn't have enough gain for me. I need to go check one of the JCA22H's out.

i would personally go for some Eminence Legends.

                the V12 series.

They are what Soldano use in their cabs and they really suit the voicing of the amps.

They do not sell the exact ones from the soldano cabs
The v12's are different. Not sure how much tho.

I've spoken with the guys at eminence and the only difference is the ohm rating.

The soldano ones are V1216 whilst the retail ones are v128s.

But that could just be a sales person trying to make sales

However the V128s work amazingly well with my SLO clone

                        Toe,
Sounds like a good option then. I thought the soldano ones were 50 watt and the retail ones were rated at 120 watts? Seems like all eminence speakers rated really high on terms of wattage. I like them pushed a little

Im not entirely sure i dont think he mentioned the wattage.

I could actually see the jet city cabs having a pretty similar speaker in as theyre voiced for similar circuits.

Have you looked at the private jacks? I've heard nothing but good things about them and will most likely be getting my next cab with a private jack/governer combo

Not thought about private jacks. Governor I liked. A thicker v30 to my ears. Not what I want here but was real nice with my marshall
