So I'm interested in buying a good multi effects unit for my setup. Preferable a floor unit but a rack would be ok. I want something that has effects only no preamps in it also it has to be stereo output and have a loop for a preamp. Anyone know of something like this that is under $500?

I think the Vox/Korg Tonelabs are very nice. New they are over $500, though.

        M13 under 500?

See my "Why don't they make this effect thread"

I think there is really no such thing. I agree the M9/13 is great - but there is nothing less "high end" it appears in current production.

Digitech TSR12, though you'll need some sort of MIDI-based pedal or other unit to actually make it do stuff in a live rig. The ART X-15 can be set up as a Continuous Controller for it, however.

It can be a bit daunting to program, or even to assign CCs and MIDI implementations (effect On/Off, etc), but once you get it set, you shouldn't have to tweak it too much.

It's got 15-band Graphic and 5-band Parametric EQs, Stereo Chorus, Flanger, Phaser, Pitch Shift (single or double), Reverbs, Delays (Ping-Pong, Analog, 4-tap), and Auto-Panning.

I have been using the Rocktron Xpression for the last 5 or 6 years. Sounds great and have been reliable.
