Im confussed head cab connection

Im cunfussed my owners manual on the Bugera says if you have a 16 ohm cab, as I do, set your switch to 8 ohm on the head, , so why wouldnt it be set to 16ohms on the head for a 16 ohm 4x12 cab? And the outputs on the head says 4 ohm min speaker Impedance/ jacks paralleled. Im just plugged into 1 output on the head, am I missing anything? the 2 outputs on the back of the cab againj Im plugged into just 1.

Sorry 4 the lame ? I dont want to make any mistakes..
and get the best out of my rig.

16 ohm setting into 16 ohm cab. You would switch to 8 ohm if you plugged into 2 cabs of 16 ohms.

whenever you hook up two cabs, you switch it down to have the ohm level of the cabs since they're hooked up in parallel.
