  • Small 5 watt prototype combo

Testing a small simple amp, with a single 10" Jensen speaker with the felt cone.
It only clips on its own if I use a loud guitar, and that one I left at work....
So I used a pedal for dirt...one prototype as well, a variation on the PT with more lower mids....
Anyways made the clip on the more vintage side in the sound area...
I like open tones....and is not too enamoured with fat muddy stuff myself!

Used to mics for this( I usually do that anyways)
Nothing but the effects used in the signal chain is added.
Proto PT and a 1,1 sec Dlx Memoryman is used, plus a Voodoolab chorus(which sounds nothing like a CE-1 as they claim, I chucked in another BBD sometime ago, some Panasonic, forgot the number haha, improved it some)...
    Played my green CS Tele.

Re: Small 5 watt prototype combo

Thanks....still needs a few refinements to be honest...but then again, it is a simple small amp....

        What it looks like!?
        A POS right now
Haha nah not gonna take any pictures of this sucker right now...it is a lab amp....quickly sawed out baffle, and a few improvised items as well...

Later when we have more final look for it....then I can shoot a couple of pics....then again, dunno if it will matter?
The market is flooded with stuff these days!!!
Maybe it will take off, or maybe it will just die a silent death??

Can I have the prototype when you're done?

Re: Small 5 watt prototype combo

Well thought about it...here are some pictures anyways
The amp, and two pedals...the DC drive is not a DC drive, but a HDB on 9v now....have been fiddeling with this for some time now....wanted to make an overdrive that could be used on wider array of amps, sofar is has performed good in my ears...
The trashed up thing is the PTmk3 as I call it now
A more vintagey middy thing, still with plenty of dirt and bottomend, it has a wider more deep sound than the two others....also more allround on amps...

This one did not get tamed, but it can work on less specialised amps, it is also nicer with singlecoils and such!
While the org model needs you to be more on the working side....using your toneknob and such....heh

No better no more fantastic, different stuff instead....it will come in a small MXR sized box later on, the HDB will have the next size in the box department, the same size as our regular 9v and proline pedals...

As for the amp, dual colour scheme, two different tolex colours will be used....single end EL-84 sofar, one 12AX7 in the input, and one 10" Jensen felt dome speaker....

The internals of the PTmk3 is a mess....that is how prototypes often look...we tweak sh!t here hehe....a 9v in and +-12v on the inside!

Have no idea when they will get out in the real world.....the PTmk2 will soon be out, togther with the remade AC-Tone...both small boxes and 9v blah blah

                  Enjoy!

I don't think I've ever played an amp/cab that had drivers with a felt cone. How does it differ from paper?

when it comes to combos, i only consider 12" speakers.

The felt is softer in the sound.
Love those 10" Jensens....they are more fun when going 4x10" in a big cab....but for these small things they are cool too!
