  • Tommy Bolin fuzz + Bruno Underground 40 + Space Echo

This is a quick clip from last night as we were working out one of my solos @ Ultrasound NYC ... Strat w/ Duncan SSL-1 > BOSS Space Echo > Tommy Bolin Fuzz > Bruno Underground 40 > Diezel 4x12.

The tone was great -- very Stratty but with enough hair on it to make it interesting.

Why don't you take your little Cobra Kais and get outta here?!

As soon as I saw "Bruno" and knew that you lived in NY, I figured you were at Ultrasound...hehe.

That sounded great! It's amazing what a little delay and a little hair to the notes will do. Great playing on that one too; I could tell you were inspired.

That's a great sound man. You're spot on with your description, veeery clean but with a hint of bite.

      Great playing too!

        Cool stuff as always B!

Is the title a typo or am I not hip enough to know what a UG 40 is???
If you just read a post by The Guy Who Invented Fire please understand that opinions change, mind sets change and as players our ears mature...not to mention our needs grow and change. With that in mind, today I may or may not agree with the post you just read!

Not a typo. I have a feeling that many of the amps @ Ultra are one-offs made by Tony specifically for Gene/Jeff, or perhaps prototypes. In the Ultra Room, which is the one I use most often, there are at least 3 varieties of Underground, A Pony 50, and at least 2-3 Cow Tippers (Plus the usual Komets, Dr Z, Cornford, Star, Bulldog, Matchless, etc etc which adorn that wall). Many of the models I've seen in Ultra are not the "standard" ones you see online.

Hank Marvin with Rainbow as a rhythm section. Cool stuff Ben...like the octave work.

Is this the same amp guy who is designing those 6v6 amps for VOX?
I'm an internet person. All we do is waste time evaluating things that have next-to-zero real world significance.

LOL; yes, this is probably a bit TOO clean for my taste, but still a great tone.
