I always knew that if it wasn't for me wanting to buy it, Don would've been more than happy to keep it.

Edit: and I'm still very grateful to Don for selling it and allowing me the time to raise the money for it

Do what I do. Hold tight and pretend it's a plan!

Kinda odd naming it by numbers in the title. I only knew it by its vintage modern name, or VM. Always wanted to try. Figure I'll love it. Out of my price range, but thinking of thinning down the heard to one killer Marshall.

        Yup, him and Paul Gilbert.

I -kind of- agree. For instance, there are a bunch of different JCM800 models, of which the 2203 is the classic hard rock, heavy metal one that Zakk Wylde and Kerry King uses.

I love Marshall model numbers. They have the loosest kind of logic to them which makes ever-so-slightly more sense than if they were completely random numbers

That's my dream amp. Well, the 50-watt head version is.

                Congrats.

Congrats on a really great amp.

I just bought a new VM 2266 head a couple weeks ago. Great sounding amp! I got it on ebay brand new for only about $750 with shipping (because it had a slight dent in the metal cap on one of the ends of the handle). Funny thing is, I can hardly even see it when I'm looking right at it. Plus it was missing the footswitch, but I can make one for about $15.

I had a 2466 head last year (the 100 watt version), but got rid of it cause it was more amp than I needed. But I just couldn't keep away from that great tone, so I bought the 50 watt version. I absolutely LOVE that classic crunch tone.

For classic rock that's about as good as you can get. Congrats! All around great classic Marshall roar from those.

                        Heh, classic rock...

Sure, classic rock! But also punk, blues, heck, even my flavour of progressive death metal!
