AMT Electronics floor preamps.

Digitally Challenged
man in moon and I have been discussing these over the last few days, and I'm going to take a dive and try a couple of them, but figured I'd post up and see if there's any experience on here with them.

I'm thinking the B1 Bogner clone and the E2 Engle clone. The E2 being 2 channel so I have some semblance of a clean channel. Probably run these into one of them small pedal amps from EH or AMT and then into a 1x12 cab for some late night practice.

The only real concern I have is how they handle effects like a boost in front of them, or putting some like a digital delay in between the preamp and power amp since they don't have an fx loop.

Re: AMT Electronics floor preamps.

I've been looking at...lusting for the P1 or E1. They sound best when in the effects loop of a tube amp from the YT demos I've watched. I like your idea and considered the same thing for a cool little portable rig. Also the Character series pedals sound good.

You could buy the V1 or F1 preamp with the E2. They have FX Loop and are meant to use with the other preamps, really cool & good sounding. There's alos the SS series. The other is vintage to hard rock sounding, the other one is more modern. They are tube preamps.

Re: AMT Electronics floor preamps.

The S1 is the one I want to get. I posted some vids of it a while back. It nails the SLO tone.

Since it's a preamp, you run the output of it to an effect (delay, reverb, etc) and then out of that to the power amp. In real amps, the effects loop comes at the tail end of the preamp. Yeah, there's some differences electronically and such but the concept is the same.

@innerdreamrecords.co-The V1 and F1 have a second fx loop. When the V1 or F1 in on the second fx loop is bypassed, the when you click the V1 or F1 off the second fx loop engages giving you two channel in a sense. I have both the V1 and F1 along with the E1, R1 and M1 and it they work and sound awsome. I'm waiting for a P1 to arrive in the mail from russia

@Mr 9finger the pedals take boost pedal very well. As for modulations if you use the F1 or V1 they have an effects loop after the preamp that is always on weather the pedal is engaged or in bypass.

One other important thing I should mention about these pedals is they need to be powered with 12volts. They sound kinda thin and fizzy at 9 volts.

Re: AMT Electronics floor preamps.

If you are handy with a soldering iron there are plenty of layouts of preamps available.
