The life span of ALL new tubes is fractional of that of vintage tubes...thats just a fact of life.
The new Mules sound pretty solid for sure.
Are we talking pres or power tubes here?If you just read a post by The Guy Who Invented Fire please understand that opinions change, mind sets change and as players our ears mature...not to mention our needs grow and change. No offense, but the new Mullards and the EH equivalents have presented more problems in certain amps and they do not check out in my tube tester. Not saying they don't work, but they usually check out as very soft. If that's what you're after, more power to ya.

I don't know; I've been using the Tungsol 12ax7 pres quite a bit and I like them a lot personally.
