With the amp set at 8 Ohms.
I'm presuming that when you plug into the stereo socket it splits the speakers as it says on the panel. Other stereo boxes have a switch for this. So just plug one output into the stereo socket and leave the other empty. [ Mono ] Plug your other cabinet into the other output on the amp.

The other cabinet should be set to Mono and plugged into the 16 Ohm socket.

Alternatively run/plug into the Orange at 8 Ohms Mono and the Marshal switched to stereo and plug into one side only. Set the amp for a 4 Ohm output.

Aha!!! Thanks! All I have to do is to confirm if it is in fact just two speakers pushing 16 ohhms ...

I just edited my post with an alternate setup at the bottom.

If I was to plug them both into my Tweaker (it has two outputs), should I use it at 4 ohms?

I've never ever dealt with this.
The power will split evenly between the cabinets, so, the speaker in the 1-12 cab will get 1/2 of the power, the speakers in the 2-12 cab will each get 1/4 of the power.

Thank you, this might be the first option to try as for years I've been running this Marshal Cab and Laney head matched at 4 - love the tighter and punchier sound of 4 ohms ...

This is the first time I've ever heard someone say that 4 ohms sounds tighter and punchier. I have always experienced the opposite where running at 16 ohms gives a tighter sound.

That's what I've always heard/thought too. Of course, the speakers and cabinet will make more difference than how many windings on the output transformer you are using.

My Music Man HD 150 is a freak in the amp world...its speaker jacks are wired in series. That amp will drive 8 cabs. It's a beast.

So, here we are again. If i want to run two heads into the Marshal 1960A cab above, two 50 watt heads stereo in one cab, per markings on the back of the cab left 8 ohms, right 8 ohms, do I set the amps 8 ohms for each ?

I will be using my Ibanez stereo chorus to to slit the guitar into two amps

                    Thanks.

I dont know why have amnesia on this, but yes. That's what I did. Not sure I will use this set up in the studio this sunday, but live - definitely! CS9 RI is a great stereo split point!
