  • Replace Boss GE-7 with a Maxon EQ???

    Hi guys!

I use a modified 7 in my effects loop and only use it to raise volume for my single coil guitars. I also sometimes use it to shape my guitar tone for some solos.

I am thinking of going with something more high end. How about the Maxon 601 EQ or something higher end?

I honestly may just stick to my amp's built in solo boosts and second masters.

    Thanks!

the less stuff you have in your signal chain, the richer the sound. But if you really feel the need for an eq and want a better one than the ge-7, try the monte allums mod kit. I did it to mine with good results. Less noise, more clarity. Its a lot cheaper than a maxon too!

Gibson 175, thanks bro. My GE7 currently has the mod you speak of.
I may pull it off my board and use the built in boost.
I know what you mean about less in the chain. However, I use only what I need and I use good cable and buffers, good pedals, patch cords, etc. Thanks man.
