  • How to get this tone?

At 3:15, it sounds like delay and flanger or chorus? I don't know. I don't use effects much. I usually hate when people layer dirt with effects but it sounds good to my ears.

It's hard to say for sure, but I'd guess chorus.

Though, with the right flanger settings, you can get a pretty good chorus sound - Andy Summers did this on Police records regularly with his Electric Mistress, and I recreated that for a recent review:

Guitargeek diagrammed his rig a while back... it's basically all rack stuff live, no idea what the studio might've been.

Les Paul on the bridge pickup, a carefully dialed in light chorus with the depth down and the rate up, and a nice analog-flavored delay oughta do the trick.

It's a modulation effect.. Light chorus with high rate sounds like it should get you close.

It has been a long time since I have heard that song!
