I am posting this for a friend . . .

. . . by now, i am pretty sure a lot of you know the German band Rammstein.

I have NO idea what amps they are using.
So, can you guys help us out !

What pedals (and other FX) is needed to get close to their sound ?

I assume they are using hi-gain amps ?

5150 ? EGNL ? Diezel ?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys.

Thanks for posting !

Now i know we need a pedal that is a Mesa Recto in a box.

Re: That RAMMSTEIN sound on a budget ?

So, doesn any one know a GOOD Mesa Recto-in-a-box pedal ?

Except the new Mesa made pedals.

AMT R1/R2, although I think the S1/S2 sounds better. Dr Boogey is another option.

I just picked up an OKKO Dominator, it nails the deep death metal sound, it'd probably do a decent Rammstein sound with less gain and extreme EQing. :D

I always thought it was a Hughes and Kettner Warp Factor, but I literally haven't heard Rammstein since Du Hast. :|
There's always the Boss HM2....Everyone should use an HM2. Forever.

The H&K Warp amp will do it. The pedal, I'd never had any luck with. I've got the Behringer version of the pedal and it sounds better than the H&K one.

Not exactly Rammstein:

Dominus, I derive playshuuuure from that post.

I've got the stupid Behringer version of the HM2 and I love the tone with the distortion to 1 as well. It reminds me of that thicker, softer Death n Roll Entombed tone they started using.
