  • Power switching mods...

How difficult would it be to do a power switch mod to an average amp, like getting a 50 watter down to 20 or 10 watts....anyone here do this????

It's not really doable on a 50w amp.

The only real option is yellowjackets but i havent looked into them too much.

There's some ways this could be done, but all of them are quite a compromise. Switching to cathode bias, from pentode to triode, or modding to change tube types can all drop power levels. The issue is, you'll be changing headroom, and less the actual decibel levels.

Thar's dese heer tings from London Power...

Qualified Power Scaling installers, builders & manufacturers. Choose a skilled Power Scaling installer from this list.

Or instead of trying to make the amp quieter, make the speakers quieter. Put together a 1x12 with a low db speaker. You could also buy/fab an isolation cab.
