  • NAD: Something Orange this way comes...

It's been a couple of years in the making, but I finally snagged a Rockerverb. I used a Mk I for a couple of songs in a recording session back in 2012 and really liked it, but could never find one for a price I was willing to pay. After liquidating some pedalboard gear recently I decided to go amp hunting again, and even though I started out looking at the OR50 I wound up with this Rockerverb 50 Mk II.

I only have a small closed-back 1x12 loaded with a Cannabis Rex here at home right now, but I'm hearing that sound I got hooked on two years ago. The reverb is much more useable in this version though, and it seems like the gain channel is a little tighter and less fuzzy with the EL34s. The added mid control on the clean channel is also a nice update over the Mk I. I can't wait for the matching 2x12 to get it later this week so I can really give it a workout!

Man, that amp looks great. Congrats! Really wish I had both the physical and fiscal space for an Orange...
Why don't you take your little Cobra Kais and get outta here?!

I'd love to hear what you'd do through this amp, you can dial in some great tones for your style. If you use Amplitube, check out the Orange amps pack.

My guitar player is looking into getting an Orange himself, and he couldn't have made a better decision. They are just too tasty!

Not a bad idea. I'll track something simple in a bit.

Here's a quick clip. Nothing special, just simple stuff to let you hear the amp.

I'm playing a telecaster with Klein '52 pickups. The cab is a small closed-back 1x12 loaded with an Eminence Cannabis Rex. I put a Sennheiser e906 right on the grill cloth, at the edge of the speaker cone.

Here are the volume/EQ settings, I moved the gain knob around a bit.

                          That sounds freaking awesome.

I bet it would sound even more awesomer with that korina tele of yours.

Is it me or Orange amps always sound kinda fuzzy?
