        I use a variac constantly with my modded Marshall (runs at 100V). What do you want to know?

          I think he was concerned that a Variac would break the Infinium biasing tech in the Bugera 1960. It SHOULD work just fine with the voltage lowered. Raising it would probably break things, though. I haven't tested it myself, though, on mine. I need to get a Variac. I also need money. LOL

            This is the exact one I have and it's only $104. At 20A, it's plenty sufficient:

              There's that one and the 5A one (I think it's blue) that I've been looking at. I just need to rob a bank. LOL

              The 5A one should be good enough for a Bugera 1960 since it's got a 3A mains fuse.

              Our affordable Variable Autotransformer converts a 110 volt input to a variable output of 0-130 volts at 5 amps.

                Excellent! I'm thinking I should have my guitar completed by final week of May, then I will probably get the 1960 Infinium shortly after.
