  • Need help with reverb tank

I just picked up a Randall RM50 combo pretty cheap. When the guy brought it to me the reverb tank was unhooked. I know they are pretty straight forward as far as hooking up. But I have never had one like this. Besides the normal cable there is another cable that is attached to a circuit board on the underside of the tank. With 2 1/4 plugs the guy said that they were urged into the parallel loop.
That's a new one on me as well.
Is this normal? I do not really care about the reverb but is the board something the amp needs as part of its tone?

Looks to me like the board will be a s/s drive or recovery stage, or both. I.e. it's suitable for use with an amp that doesn't noprmally have reverb. Thus the third wire would be for the power supply.

No idea if this is 'normal' or just a clever 'add-on' that someone has created. Now you just need to work out what supply voltage is needed to power it.
Lumbering dinosaur (what's a master volume control?)
