I have basically limited to combos and a single speaker at 16 ohms. My question is concerning differences in using a speaker rated at 8 or 4 ohms. I ALWAYS match impedance and have a switch to do so.
Reason?
I have a 6505 combo. My Marshall has a EVH speaker at 8 ohms. I love it and love the peavey through it. I am considering getting another 8 ohm and putting it in my combo and using both speakers sets at 4 ohms if I need the volume over 2.
Am i selling myself short at running 2 speakers at 4 ohms instead of buying 2 at 16 ohms. Cost wise it's easier for me to get 1 speaker than selling one and buying 2.
Thanks
