Re: Fixing broken Eminence speaker
A better way is to replace the terminal
But if you can get in there to it
You should be able to make it work
Probably won't take abuse real well
Like replacement wouldEHD

That other wire solders on
Buy a terminal strip
Unsolder and attach to new one
If you look down the screw on bits
Can you see the head of whatever holds it on?EHD

Re: Fixing broken Eminence speaker
Simple fix would be to just feed the speaker wire and the wire from the jack plate through the hole of the post together and clamp it back down.
If the speaker wire is too short, then solder a small piece of braided wire onto it to lengthen it so it reaches. Looks to be around 16 gauge braided electrical wire.
Another thought, if the jack plate wire has enough slack, pass it through the post hole with enough end to make it over to the speaker wire and solder the two together.
Then clamp the post down on the jack plate wire to keep it (the wires) from bouncing freely around back there.
The post is just a mechanical connection (crimped or clamped) point to secure the wires and pass current.
By soldering the two wires together, you are making a hardwired connection. (soldered or fused) which is normally considered better anyways.Last edited by kherman; 03-19-2017, 10:23 AM.sigpic

Re: Fixing broken Eminence speaker
I just replaced the speaker terminal on an old alnico driver. But those were standard terminals, not binding post type. Personally, if I could find a replacement binding post assembly, I'd probably send the speaker in to an eminence repair facility and have it done right if it makes financial sense. Otherwise, as posted by others above, it's easy enough to jerry-rig (or jury-rig if you prefer).
